My Consideration

Now the time is finally coming. I have to decide which topic I will choose for my thesis. Some of my friends including my boyfriend suggest that I should choose the easy topic so I can finish my grad school on time or even faster. But on the other hand, deep down in my heart I want something that intellectually challenging

The easiest choice is to do research about sociology of education in school. However, I don’t think that topic challenge me. As for me, transgender and HIV issues always become the things that are interesting to research and even if I know several transgender figures, I always think that it is really hard to blend into their community.

My colleague researchers suggested to choose the Suku Anak Dalam and their education. But the problem is the budget and distance. I don’t mind living with them but how to go there still an issue. When we visited them last year, we have to use 4 wheel drive vehicle or use a boat. It was very expensive especially for a poor student without scholarship like me *eh*. But I can take this topic if and only if a get a job as a research assistant again. Which I do not know for sure when that will be happen.
